Who is No-Burn Edmonton?

No-Burn Edmonton is an Edmonton based company whose vision is to save lives and property from the devastation of fire. The president of No-Burn Edmonton is a veteran firefighter with Strathcona County Emergency Services who has witnessed, first hand, the irreparable damage done to lives and property by fire. That is the motivation behind bringing the No-Burn family of products to the Edmonton builder's market.

What is the Science Behind No-Burn Products?

At ignition, all fires are no bigger than a spark. The growth of a fire is determined by the availability of three things: air, fuel and time. Remove any one of these variables and a fire can no longer sustain itself. When a surface which has been treated with No-Burn is then subject to flame or intense heat, No-Burn bubbles up and creates a "Carbon Char" barrier. This carbon/nitrogen barrier is not a viable fuel source for fire. By taking the fuel out of the "fire equation", the surface cannot burn and the fire can no longer sustain itself.

A fire which goes unchecked or undiscovered doubles in size every 10 seconds. No-Burn is "your silent fireman" because it is always on duty, protecting the unseen areas of a structure. Behind walls, in attic spaces, around chimney chases, these are the areas where fires are most likely to occur. Traditional fire fighting methods such as sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, and even deployment of the fire department are all reactionary to a fire which is already underway. The innovation behind No-Burn is it's ability to stop a fire before it starts.

Is No-Burn Safe?

The new technology with which No-Burn has been developed has removed the danger of toxic seepage because toxins are simply not present in any of our products. No-Burn products are derived from food grade materials resulting in an effective fire suppressant that is completely non-toxic, non-carcinogenic and non-staining. There is absolutely no threat of toxins leaching into a No-Burn protected structure.

All of the wooden components used in the construction phase of Scona Gardens and Tamaya Wynd will be protected by the professional installation of No-Burn Wood Gard. As stated, this product is an effective fire suppressant which is completely non-toxic. Other No-Burn products include:

" No-Burn Plus - a flat finish, tintable latex paint suitable for application as any other latex paint primer
